Know more about this product

Protect outdoor dome cameras from rain, direct sunlight, and harsh environmental conditions with the HIKVISION DS-1250ZJ Rain Shade. Constructed from durable composite fibre, this accessory ensures long-term stability and extends the operational life of your surveillance hardware. The integrated water chute prevents direct water flow onto the camera housing, while the design shields lenses from glare to improve image clarity. Engineered for outdoor use, it offers windproof performance and anti-freezing properties suitable for low-temperature climates. Installation requires a flat wall surface capable of supporting the combined weight of the camera and shade. This genuine accessory is essential for maintaining optimal performance and protecting your investment in all weather scenarios.

Ideal Use Cases

Residential driveway and street approach: The HIKVISION DS-1250ZJ provides a fixed outdoor view, which suits cars and people at the kerb better than general motion alone.

Eave and soffit mounting on typical Australian homes and small shops: The turret/dome body mounts under brick, weatherboard, or render eaves. Set pan/tilt after the base is fixed so you do not remount the housing.

Shopfront and mixed-light entries: Fixed outdoor coverage helps where sun meets canopy or glazed doors on customer-facing fronts.

Side gates, car-park aisles, and small-business yards: A fixed view is useful where staff, vehicles, and foot traffic need clearer event filtering than basic motion.

Buyer Tips

Match the exact SKU before you order. Confirm DS-1250ZJ, colour, and lens option against the job. Sibling SKUs can add mic, strobe, or different FOV.
Enable the smart events you paid for. If the camera supports human/vehicle filtering, turn those events on in the camera or NVR — general motion alone wastes the feature.
Give the lens a clean view. Heavy foliage, strong glass reflections, or objects too close to the lens increase false or missed events.
Plan cable sealing for outdoor installs. Seal glands and keep the published weather rating intact on eave and wall mounts.
