Overview

HIKVISION's DS-2TD1217-2/QA pairs a 160×120 vanadium-oxide thermal sensor (1.8mm lens, NETD <40mK) with a 4MP optical channel (2mm lens) in one turret housing. Thermal imaging picks up people and vehicles by body and engine heat, so detection keeps working in full darkness, glare, smoke and light fog, while the optical channel records the visual detail needed to identify what triggered the alarm.

Line crossing, intrusion and region entry/exit rules run on the thermal image for fewer false alarms from shadows, headlights and foliage. It also flags fire sources and can measure surface temperature with point, area and line rules (-20°C to 150°C). A white-light strobe and audible alarm can be linked to detections to warn intruders off. IR covers up to 15 m for the optical channel. It is IP67 rated and runs on PoE or 12 VDC.
