Do not treat the 800m laser specification as a guaranteed 800m identification distance. It refers to the maximum supplemental laser illumination range. Actual target detail depends on zoom position, atmospheric conditions, lighting, vibration, target size and installation geometry.
DarkFighterX and laser illumination serve different low-light roles. DarkFighterX uses Hikvision's dual-sensor architecture to retain colour and brightness information in extremely low ambient light, while the laser illuminator provides additional long-range illumination when natural light becomes insufficient.
Mounting stability becomes critical at 48× zoom. Small amounts of pole or bracket movement become much more visible when the lens is zoomed to 316.8mm, so a rigid structural mount is essential.
