Description

The HILOOK IPC-T289PH-MU/SL provides 8MP panoramic surveillance with an ultra-wide 180° horizontal field of view, making it suitable for car parks, public areas, and perimeter security applications. Its Smart Hybrid Light technology combines infrared and white light illumination up to 30 metres, helping deliver clear full-colour imaging in low-light environments.

With deep learning-based human and vehicle detection, the camera helps reduce false alarms and improves the accuracy of security events. It also features built-in two-way audio, an active red and blue strobe light, and an audible siren, allowing it to function as an effective real-time deterrence solution.

Key Features

  • 180° Panoramic Coverage: The ultra-wide 2 mm lens captures a broad horizontal panoramic view from a single camera position.
  • Smart Hybrid Light: Uses both IR and white light illumination up to 30 metres to support optimised full-colour imaging in low-light conditions.
  • Active Deterrence: Red and blue strobe lights, combined with an audible siren, help warn and deter intruders in real time.
  • Two-Way Audio: Built-in microphone and speaker allow live voice communication through the camera.
  • AI Motion Detection: Deep learning-based human and vehicle detection helps minimise false alarms from irrelevant movement.
  • H.265+ Compression: Reduces bandwidth and storage usage while maintaining high-quality video performance.

Key Capabilities

180° Panoramic Coverage

The fixed 2 mm lens provides a 180° horizontal and 77° vertical field of view, allowing one camera to monitor wide outdoor spaces from a wall or corner mounting position. This can reduce the need for multiple cameras, helping lower cabling requirements, installation time, and hardware costs across larger sites.

Smart Hybrid Light

The camera intelligently switches between infrared and white light depending on scene activity and lighting conditions. IR supports discreet surveillance when there is little activity, while white light activates when motion is detected to capture full-colour footage. Both illumination modes support coverage up to 30 metres.

Active Red and Blue Strobe Deterrence

Integrated red and blue strobe lights and an audible siren can activate when a detection event occurs, creating an immediate visual and audio warning. When installed near gates, access roads, or alleyways, this deterrence response can help interrupt suspicious activity before it develops further.

Two-Way Audio

A built-in noise-filtered microphone and 97 dB speaker allow real-time two-way communication through the camera. Operators can issue voice warnings, assist delivery personnel, or guide people in public areas without needing separate audio equipment.

AI Human and Vehicle Classification

Deep learning-based analytics classify detected motion as human or vehicle activity, helping filter out false triggers caused by small animals, moving foliage, or other irrelevant movement. This keeps alerts more manageable in busy environments and helps ensure notifications relate to genuine security events.

Onboard microSD Storage

The camera supports microSD, SDHC, and SDXC cards up to 512GB for local edge recording. This provides a backup recording option during network interruptions, making it especially useful for remote, exposed, or outdoor locations where NVR connectivity may not always remain stable.

FAQs

  1. Does the 180° lens create distortion around the edges of the image?
Yes. As with most ultra-wide-angle lenses, the 2 mm lens can create barrel distortion near the outer edges of the frame. This is a normal effect of achieving a 180° horizontal field of view. The distortion is mainly visible at the edges and does not reduce the camera’s effectiveness for wide-area monitoring, although edge details may appear stretched compared with a standard lens.
  2. Can this camera be mounted directly on a wall, or is a separate bracket required?
The IPC-T289PH-MU/SL can be mounted directly onto a flat wall using its built-in base. For pole mounting, the Hikvision DS-1275ZJ-SUS pole mount bracket is compatible. Optional Hikvision accessories such as the DS-1273ZJ-140 and DS-1271ZJ-140-DM45 can also be used for angled or pendant-style installations.
  3. What activates the red and blue strobe lights and siren?
The strobe lights and siren are activated by configured motion detection events, particularly when the camera’s AI identifies a human or vehicle within the selected detection area. Through the camera’s event settings, users can set the strobe, siren, or both to trigger for events such as intrusion detection or line crossing.
  4. Is two-way audio built into the IPC-T289PH-MU/SL?
Yes. The camera has both a built-in microphone and a 97 dB speaker, so no external audio device is required. It supports real-time two-way communication through compatible NVR interfaces or remotely through the Hik-Connect mobile app.
  5. What is the night vision range, and can it record in colour at night?
The Smart Hybrid Light system provides illumination up to 30 metres using both infrared and white light. In standard night monitoring mode, the camera can use IR for monochrome footage. When motion is detected, it can switch to white light to capture full-colour video. It can also be configured to use white light continuously for colour night recording.
  6. Can the camera record locally without using an NVR?
Yes. The IPC-T289PH-MU/SL supports microSD, SDHC, and SDXC cards up to 512GB, allowing local onboard recording without a connected NVR. This is useful for remote outdoor sites or installations where the network connection to a central recorder may not always be stable. This model is available through Security Wholesalers as part of the HiLook Pro Series.
  7. What operating conditions is this camera designed for?
The IPC-T289PH-MU/SL has an IP67 rating for protection against dust and water ingress. It operates in temperatures from -30°C to 60°C and supports humidity levels up to 95% RH. This makes it suitable for exposed outdoor installations in Australian environments, including coastal areas and locations with strong seasonal temperature changes.
